Cancer cells divide and multiply at a rapid pace and typically form lumps called tumors. Cancerous tumors typically grow quickly, and can spread into other tissues via a process called metastasis. This can be very damaging to the body because as the cancer spreads and grows it can take up more space and more nutrients and can impair normal bodily functions.
